6. May an NVM real estate agent change the system of sale during the negotiations?
Yes, that is permitted. There are sometimes so many interested parties offering or approaching the asking price that it is difficult to choose the best buyer. In that case, the seller’s agent can – in consultation with the seller – decide to discontinue the current negotiations and change the offering procedure, and subsequently to opt for a registration procedure, for example. This gives all offering parties an equal chance to submit the best offer. Of course, the estate agent must fulfil any agreed commitments before changing the system.
