Peace and liveliness

You’ll find Rivierenbuurt on the edge of vibrant De Pijp, chic Oud-Zuid, and De Amstel. From here, you can easily cycle or walk into the hustle and bustle, but you can also find plenty of peace and quiet. This spacious neighbourhood almost makes you forget that you’re in Amsterdam. The houses are larger, the streets are wider and there’s more greenery.

If you want to live in the city but also like to be close to nature, Rivierenbuurt is the place to be.

Bowling fun

The Amsterdam RAI is also located in Rivierenbuurt. It’s a convention centre for large events, conferences and fairs. Thanks to its location directly on the A10, you won’t notice the large flow of people in the rest of the neighbourhood. Across from the RAI is the more than fifty-year-old bowling centre, Knijn. We wonder if you can beat our high score.

‘When I go for a run, I can quickly escape into nature from my home in Rivierenbuurt via Amsteldijk. It’s pure enjoyment.’

Abundance of parks

Just behind the RAI, you can easily walk into Beatrixpark: an elegant park with a relaxed atmosphere, tall trees and lots of grass. There’s a paddling pool and playground for the little ones. Right next to the Amstel River is Martin Luther Kingpark, another beautiful place for a stroll. In the summer, you’ll find De Parade here, a traveling theatre festival. For more than two weeks, the park transforms into a lively and cultural part of Mokum.

Neighbourhood pool

Put on your swim cap, because on the edge of Rivierenbuurt lies De Mirandabad: a great place to swim a few laps before or after work, or to teach your children how to swim. Not a fan of water? You can also play a game of squash there.
