At its vibrant centre lies the Westerpark itself. Besides relaxing, exercising or strolling, you can spend your entire day at the Westergasfabriek \u2013 the hotspot for creative, cultural and innovative entrepreneurs. Here, you&#8217;ll find restaurants, a brewery, a film house and an event venue.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Both Staatsliedenbuurt and Spaarndammerbuurt have countless nice restaurants and caf\u00e9s where you can experience the charming neighbourhood feeling.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u2018Visitors come to Spaarndammerbuurt from near and far to admire the Amsterdam School workers&#8217; houses.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<cite>Anne, Makelaar Bert<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Amsterdam School<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost hidden behind Westerpark lies Spaarndammerbuurt. It is worth a visit just for its beautiful architecture. Around 1920, the now famous workers&#8217; houses were designed by Michel de Klerk in the Amsterdam School style. Originally, these beautifully designed houses were inhabited by dockworkers from the neighbourhood. Today, the head of the Westerpark neighbourhood consists of seven artificial islands called the Houthavens. It is a place with luxury apartments and modern offices.
